Hey Smokers try this; drop your live butts into a coke can with water in it. This douses the cig, and prevents a butt from going out the window and causing a fire. What do you think ? No smell in your car or campsite or picnic. Then toss the coke can away after it is too full. Cost 5 cents for the can, Safe forest priceless.

Good advise, saw a grass fire start on Sunday from a cig butt. It was next door to our house.
Fire was put out fast, but reminded me of how fast these things happen.

Just use the ash tray in your car. That's what it's there for

Many of the newer cars no longer come with ash trays. Our 2007 Hyundai does
not have one. When we purchased our car the ash tray was an option.

You can buy aftermarket ashtrays.
Save the cans for Chris. ;D

When I smoked I would use an old water bottle, that way I could eliminate the lid to keep the smell of old, wet butts out. Either way, great tip, especially for this time of year!

That's just good smoker etiquette. When I use to smoke, I did almost everything I can to minimize my smoking affects on others and that includes dropping my butts into a can versus the water.
