Anyone ever fish Chute lake from the shore?
Suggested flies for Mid August afternoon/evening? (It's all I have available as I'll be arriving by bike one day and leaving the next)
Thanks.

my friend and his dad went there twice for bc day longweekends they caught a lot of fish throughout the day . and they have no skill in fishing what so ever they used spinners so use a "bright fly" im sure youll get fish give us a report when you get back.

It seems to be a fairly underfished lake. I hope we can catch a few for dinner that night. I suppose mid Aug they're going to start tasting a bit muddy.

i just got some more info from my buddy , he said early morning is best (like all lakes) and its a private lake so for all people not staying at theyre lodge you have to pay for the fish you keep and your going by bike, he said its a 45 minute drive up there just to let you know

Thanks, we're camping with the lodge. I'll double check on fishing to be sure.
I've been there before... last time things were too hectic to have a chance to fish :(

never too hectic to fish. my wife always wants me to help her do camp chores before going fishing. so i make a list then sneak out and do everything on the list when i get back. good luck and maybe try a bit deeper because it must be stinking hot even up there.

Well, I got screwed out of fishing the lake again. It was SOOO cold on Thursday that we had to bail part way through our bike ride in Myra Canyon (<10C and raining!!!) We got to Chute Lake around 1800 and it was still raining and VERY cold. We didn't get tents setup until almost 1930 and I had to get everything organized for the kids to keep them warm. No fishing AGAIN!
I did get a few casts on PEAR lake (near Idabel lake) but no takers on either my black leach or a red doc. :(
Oh well.
Thanks for the info though guys!

--never heard this was a private lake... maybe to use their dock or boats have to pay but should be free access from old forest service site or along shore outside of the resort area.

the mosquitoes are bigger than the fish up there :o
