Hi Richmond has been slow lately. Does anyone know some decent shore fishing spots for sturgeon? I tried the Queen's landing dock near mission with no dice and the Billy miner pub dock (so many snags).
My friend bought a new rod and since he hasn't caught a fish, lol. I want to help him break it in. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you are in Richmond, anywhere along the South Arm can be good for sturgeon shore fishing during this time of the year. Dyke Road between Gilbert and No. 3 Road, bettween No. 4 Road and No. 5 Road are typical spots where people target them.
Fish in the 3 to 5 ft range have been caught regularly in the last couple of weeks. Eulachon seems to be the most effective bait.

Hehe, I saw you there that day Rod! Yeah I am a regular those area, but it has really slowed down the last week or so. The dock has been especially slow, I imagine they might be moving inland.

Ah ok. :) The fishing is still pretty good from what I have seen. Yesterday two in the 5ft range were landed. Another two were landed on Monday while I was there. I also saw a few surfacing yesterday during the incoming tide.

Wow, okay, I haven't been there since saturday. Maybe it has picked up a little hehe...

I've caught some around fort langley to abbotsford before at two bit and duncar bars. Never anything too large off of there for me, but have had better success off the island by the stave river. The island starts at two bit bar and ends right at duncan bar, you can get over there in a canoe or small boat easily as long as you are careful.

I've been told that people have caught them at No2 as well...

i live on the delta side of the fraser...is there any area near me that is good sturgeon fishing? as well what is the best bait to use?
-
People just go to the fraser and chuck out some bait. It's as simple as that, use roe, oolies, dew worms with scent(IE garlic or crayfish.)If after an hour or so you get nothing move to a differnet spot.
