Title: Coho from the Beach - West Van Question
Post by: Chuck23 on June 29, 2009, 01:23:00 PM
I am thinking of heading down on Canada day to target Beach Coho but I do not have waders.  Is it possible to fish the mouth of the Cap without waders?  Which side should I be on?  Is there a better area down there to fish from the shore than the mouth?  I have never targeted this fishery before so a little info would be appreciated.  I will be chucking buzz bombs and spoons...  Any other tips would be helpful.

Cheers!

you can fish from the rock breakwater, just look for the other fishermen.

It's certainly doable but having a wader will allow you to cover more water

No problem

The water isn't that cold at all I fished the West Van waterfront for years just wearing old shorts and Teva sandals no need for waders at all I'm nor sure what the other respondents are talking about.

I've done it without waders too, but needed to take a break after about 30 minutes.....must getting soft in my old age.
