What weight sinking line. What type sink rate? I can give you a rough guess, but there is no exact number. You want the reel nearly full to the rim when all the line is reeled on.

IF you like your reel to be Full, 150 yard of 20lb backing will do the trick.

Ditto.

No need to apologize. I was just looking for details to give you a more accurate guestimate.

You can put the flyline on the reel and then wind on backing until the spool is full. Cut it and strip it all off the reel . now wind the backing on then the flyline and you will have a full spool.

This is very good advice and the only way to be accurate-try it you will be happy.
