Has anyone gone camping at Alice lake. Thinking of taking the family up there this summer for a vacation. How's the fishing in the summer?

Alice Lake has plenty of small cutthroat trout (5 to 10in) and the hatchery stocks it a couple of times each spring with rainbow trout at catchable size. No stocking has been done up there yet but there should be at least one before the BC Family Fishing Weekend in mid June, so the fishing should be good in July. Not a whole lot of shore access spots but not impossible with a spinning rod, look for small access points from the trail. I believe fishing is prohibited from the floating docks during the summer (there are signs by the docks) due to heavy usage etc.
You may also wish to take a short hike up to Edith Lake with the family. Similar shore access and fishing result, it will also be stocked by the hatchery by the end of spring.

Dawgman your family will love Alice lake. It's got a nice playground for the kids too.
The lake combined with the scenic background is fantastic and Edith is worth the short walk as well.

I have fished Edith lake for over 25 years (give or take) and by far the majority of my catches were well over 10 inches long. I have landed some in excess of two pounds and seen other guy's do likewise. Too bad about the road being permanently closed, I used to be able to throw my dingy on my jeep and be up there fishing for a few hours. I don't understand the explanation I got from park staff about environmental concerns. I rarely ever saw more than one or two other vehicles in there at the same time!
