Title: Sturgeon Fishing
Post by: Hello on May 04, 2009, 06:45:41 PM
Just wondering if sturgeon can still be caught on the Fraser in the high water conditions.  I had a couple small ones earlier in April when the water was low but now im just getting logs and sticks. It is my first year fishing for sturgeon so is there any general depth or areas of the river that I should target?  Would now be a good time to try for them over in the Harrison?  Any pointers or tips would be greatly apreciated. :)

Yeah you can catch them in high water conditions, anchor your boat behind a log boom. Strugies like the calm water during freshet.  Try anywhere from 30 to 50 feet... And be safe out there lots of crap coming down the river which you dont want tangling with your anchor line

Also try shallow water...works well in freshet..... ;)

Stick to the Fraser for now.
