all lakes in the trees..or whats left of them are still heavily iced over in the merritt area.  only the low elevation larger lakes like stump, nicola, and douglas are open.  mamit had vehicles ice fishing on it over the weekend.  but the wind has been crazy and weather gettin warmer...so soon!

Stump has been clear for almost(or more then) 2 weeks now and should be turning as we speak (or type)

i have not talked too anyone about stump...but i have a mixed review of nicola so far.  water is ice cold, and fish are slow to feed..at least when i went out.  caught 1 small rainbow about 13.5 inches in a few hours fishing.  no kokanees yet.

Not sure where you are getting your info, cuz I called Fawn Lake Resort on Wednesday and they said that the edges of the lake were just beginning to thaw?

Went for a loooong drive yesterday and saw some frozen water and open water. Here's the list:

Monte Lake (Falkland) is open
Swan Lake (Vernon) is open and it was warm, I would think many of the lakes in this area would be open now
Lac Le Jeune is frozen but it doesn't look very thick any more, there is water showing around the edges
Courtenay & Corbett are frozen with some water around the edges and looking pretty thin
Coquihalla Lakes are stiff, it was snowing lightly on the summit
Nicola is definitely open

Will be heading to Dragon next week, not expecting it to be totally ice-free yet but maybe it'll come off while we're there...
