Title: Does anyone have any Rolley lake tips

I am going out to rolley lake this weekend and was wondering what some of you guys have had success with on that lake
because i just started and quite frankly i suck but i love it and want to get better.

I was out there Saturday morning and had a lot of fun with a reddish wholly bugger with flashers.  Try the shore across from the beach, casting to shore with a sinking tip.  Park yourself 40-50 feet facing the shore, cast 20 feet from shore, you will be in about 9 feet of water, let your fly/line sink for 5-7 seconds and retrieve with irregular 6-8 inch jerks. Don't go too far from shore because it quickly drops to 30 feet and don't cast too close to shore or you will hook into vegetation.  You're bound to hook into a 12-14 inch rainbow. 

When i got there at about 9:00, I cruised the lake in my pontoon for about 2 hours but on my way back, I stopped in this spot and it must have been feeding time 'cause I was raking them in like a madman. At about 11:00 or so, I was hooking into a fish every other cast.  Ended up with 8 for the morning but 6 in the last 20 minutes alone.  My fish finder was locating some fish quite deep (within couple of feet from the bottom) but obviously the feeding ones were closer to shore.  There was also a small chironomid hatch happening as a few shucks floating around.

Fished chironomids today and got 14 to hand and missed alot more. This was all in 45 min and as fast as it turned on it turned off. I was close to shore and they where all in the 12-14" range. Chironomid was a static bag #10

try a bead head mini leach tied on a smaller hook.Works great on a slow sink camo line. pheasant tail nymphs work great to. black, green and brown chronomids.

were you fishing them on the bottom or surface ?

I also find that Rolley tends to be really hot for a short time and then no signs of fish for a while. On a side note, my friend caught a little catfish there while float fishing.
