The Golden Ears website says that Mike Lake road is still closed. Granted that was a March 19th post. It also said that there was still ice on the lake.

I haven't gone up there to check yet, but am really looking forward to hoping on my fish cat and spending time at the lake.

Good to hear!

I've just moved out of downtown vancouver to Pitt meadows and I want to make up for last year's lack of fishing!

Last year they stocked the lake. I would imagine they would again.

I found fishing was slow but the lake is quiet and a good place to get away.

Yup Mike lake is still closed, in fact it still has ice on it. It is supposed to be open for April first. I will take a drive up there then and report back and let you know if it is open and ice free.

The road to Mike lake is now open but the lake is still frozen. With the weather we are expecting this weekend it will not be long before the ice is gone.

they waited till April 23rd to stock it last year so i imagine it will be around the same time this year but it depends on the ice of course.

I'm chomping at the bit to get fishing on Mike Lake!

This nice weather better melt the ice fast! Otherwise I'll have to find a ditch somewhere to fish on! Maybe along Lougheed Highway in Mission (just past Silverdale)- it's deep there. If you ever see a crazy man on a float tube in the ditch-- it's probably me!

The slough past Silverdale towards Mission is Silver creek. I was looking at it last thursday thinking it could definitely hold fish.

Give Rolley lake a try. Was this today and did well for about 45min. I had 14 to hand and missed alot more.

Thanks for your suggestion. I think I am going to try Rolley in the next few days.

I can't waste these nice days. Mother Nature would be upset.

Mike Lake is expected to be stocked around middle of this week. I'll update in the lake stocking thread when that happens.
