Title: Kawkawa Lake, March 28th 2009
Post by: newsman on March 28, 2009, 10:04:11 PM
I don't often post reports, but with all the interest in Kawkawa lately I felt I should post something today. Two buddies and myself made the trek there today. Like Rod's experience it took us awhile to locate the schooling Kok's. Covered most of the lake watching the fishfinder under a slow troll. No fish reading deep all were read from 2 feet to the surface. Finally found a good active school within 100 yards of the boat launch so we did get some fish. Saw Buckeye and son, they had a few fish but nothing to get excited about. The weather was cold and overcast (which is probably why the fish stayed on top) but it didn't rain on us. To sum it up we got some god casting practice but I would not recommend Kawkawa at this point; Whonock and Rolly look better.
