As I did not have to head downtown for any lessons today, I decided to head up to the Vedder River to try my luck. Arrived at the lower river and saw a guy walking out with a fish. Looks like fishing might be good today, I thought to myself. Water was a bit murky but fishable.
When I got to the spot that I normally start with, I saw something rolled in the water. Was that a duck as I waited patiently for it to surface? Nothing surfaced after a few minutes and I knew that was a fish. I tried for about half an hour to get it to bite but nothing.
I then decided to walk downward casting as I go. I was casting into about a foot of water not more than 20 feet out when my float went down. I thought I had a snag and pulled back when I noticed that this snag was fighting back. Fish on..YES!!!
I fought it for about 10 minutes with several nice runs and finally I saw the missing adipose. I safely landed the fish and bonked it and went home. Oh yah, when I landed that fish, the guy across hooked into one too.

beauty buddy, looks like I shoulda been down river this morning. I fished first light up top with nothing to show for it >:(, how many pounds? and what did you get it on?
-
I think it is about 12lbs and got it on jensen eggs clusters.

Looks like you took a shot on "stitch" mode if your camera supports it....Nice fish!!!!

Interesting pictures.

Hey Cohoman is that reel a Drifter? I have two and it looks identical to one of them. Just wondering as I don't see many around.
-
Looks like a G.Loomis reel. Made by Drifter but stamped with G.Loomis on the back.
-
It is a Tournament Drifter.

Nice catch CohoMan. Congrats. Looks like there was a pod of steelies where you caught yours. Once in q whiile, this happens and you just can't miss them. :)
