Title: Low clear water

 I posted a topic on high dirty water about a month ago now that it's low and clear im lost again. Just wondering if anyone can give some advice on ways to fish when it low and clear.For steelies of course.

try in and around the white water, theyll hold in as little as a foot of water during these low clear times. This works for me, only been skunked once in my last 5 trips.

Like Big Fisher said..... In pocket water is great. Anything with foam/chop will definatly be holding Steel, even if it is shallow. Around 6 days ago we literally stepped on a Steelhead sitting in around 16 inches of water when it was crystal clear, and the water had no chop or foam. They will sit everywhere, fish everything and you will eventually get one.  ;D

just got back from the Stamp, where things are super super low and clear. Fished almost no really deep pools but lots of shallow water with good structure (boulders) on the bottom and chop on the surface, so basically pocket water. Terminal setup was small, really small floats, Drennan 11 to 20 gram Zepplers, two or three split shot, 6 pound leader, and number 4 hook. Its kinda cool fishing the low water cause you really have to stalk the fish, keeping all of your movements very stealthy, we managed 7 fish and 4 landed in two days so not bad for how poor things seem to be over there.

water where the bottom is a little hazy and or not visible, right now with 4ft of visibility, if u can spot an area in a run or stretch of white water where u cant see bottom or there is sufficient cover, fish there!

Got to agree with Younggun on this one,low clear water keep walking past anywhere you can see bottom and search for structure and shade.Thats the main reason derby day was such tough fishing.I I broke off more than a dozen times that day trying to get under those log jams and next to the cut banks.Not to mention sunshine and steelheading don"t mix.

Thought it was only me who doesnt like fishing in sunny weather i like it when its raining on overcast ;D

i snapped off 2 full rigs, kinda sucked but i like to know that i'm fishing good water.
