Title: Cowichan River, January 9th 2009
Post by: *Lil Fisherman* on January 11, 2009, 12:27:44 AM
Headed out this morning at 6 with a buddy to arrive at perfect water conditions :)
Hit our second run about 20 mins in and my buddy strikes one for a few moments until she swims off.
My first drift 15ft away...fish on! Turns out to be my first ever steelie...so stoked ;D...it was a beauty..pics later...
After hiking atleast 3km in snow past our knees (sumtimes 4ft), spending an 1 1/2 hours digging out the truck, another 2km through thick brush and 200ft cliff sides...
ended up having one more big boy brake me off and my buddy landed a beaut Brown...we decided to head out ::)

Btw, fishing for a few hours right behind the big landsides and around the train derailment....little sketchy...listening to the mountainside drop rocks and being on the verge of coming down again :o... :D
