Title: Stave River, October 18th 2008
Post by: Geff_t on October 19, 2008, 10:40:28 AM
Well I hit the stave today with searun and his son in search of some coho at first light. Unfortunatly there was none  ??? . Did manage a coho jack on the fly and that was it. We then decided to pack up and make our way to one of my favorite spots and drift some jigs  . Well we had a good couple of hours with some really nice chrome chum landed as well as the usual stave chum. Still amazed how hard they hit those jigs. If you have never tried them I would definatly go and pick some up, and when you do go and get the Bent Rod jigs as they are definatly the best. I forgot how many I hooked on one jig but it was just as sharp at the end of the day as it was when I bought it and the hook never bent.

I was at the Stave yesterday on the rising tide, but there was nothing fresh enterring the system.
We fished away from the crowds including some calmer water but didn't see a coho all day.
