Title: Weaver Creek Spawning Channel
Post by: mykisscrazy on October 18, 2008, 01:30:11 AM
Has anyone seen how empty the Channel is? It looks so weird!
1000 or so sockeye have returned when around 100000 was thought to have passed the Albion test fishery.

Worst year on record!...second worst was 8 years ago! All very bleak

Walk down to Morris Lake. There are thousands in the lake, and probably thousands more in the creek between the lake and the spawning channel. Its still early enough that more will come in to. This run is generally a mid late October arrival.

I'm guessing that maybe you haven't gone down to Morris Lake lately....Just Chum and very few sockeye.
If the channel goes over 2000 I'll be very surprised....but I hope it does.

There are thousands in the lake all right.....dead on the bottom of it. It's going to be the worst year at Weaver by far, they're not late, they're just not coming.
