Not very professional as a guide to do that.  Unless you're anchored in the only runable channel, there's no excuse for swamping someone.

we were tucked off inside the pilings on the right hand side but  still in plain sight they could have at least slowed down since we wee only in a little 12 footer?

R, you mentioned one boat's name and three other unamed guidedboats. That in my opinion is unfair as all of them were equally at fault, so one shouldn't be singled out while the other ones remained unidentified. Secondly, not trying to suggest that your claim is not credible, but as the old saying, there are always two sides of the story.

Situations such as this is best dealed with privately. A better approach would be to send the guiding company an email with the complaint, so he or his employees are aware of their actions and hopefully changes would be made in the future.

Business owners can attempt to do everything right but it always takes one screw-up to receive bad publicity. I don't intend to have the discussion forum as a tool to generate it for my peers in the industry.

Just to give you an example, someone mistakened my website as someone else's when she had a bad experienced dealing with the other site's owner over the phone. She proceeded to email me and informed that she had decided to tell others in the industry not to deal with my website anymore. I quickly corrected her and had it sorted out before it spread like a wild fire.

The ethics of most guides I have met have never impressed me much.

No, it doesn't make me feel better, the night is already good enough for me. People need to understand that when posts are moderated, it isn't personal. I have nothing against you, simply doing so based on how I would like the discussion forum to be run.

I'm way ahead of you, an email has already been sent to the owner so he may wish to reply or send you an email.

I have already responded to Rantalot on email. Here's a copy. HI Rene, I am very sorry, did not see you behind the pilings. I always slow down in the stave and only get on plain when i don't see any boats. The only boat I saw was the one anchored near the bridge which i did slow down for.  My boat throws a large wake which I am very aware of. Once again, very sorry.

Sorry cyr it was raining way to hard to use the cell and by the time you posted I had already crashed.

RA40
In some cases is it not better to be on plane when passing other boats as you throw a lot smaller wake than you other wise would if you slow down.

Thank you.

Told you. ;) It's a better approach to work with the guides and other boat owners so everyone will have a pleasant experience on the water next time. :)

While talking about this subject when  boats are approaching or leaving boat launching areas please slow right down. You will notice at Island 22 a lot of boats are in such a hurry when leaving to go fishing or on returning they are going way too fast and create a great a wake that rocks the boats being taken off or being loading on the trailers or boats just sitting at the river' s edge getting people aboard.

Those that fish the ocean know around some areas there is speed reduction signs to adhere to, within a certain distance of the launching place or wharf. It is only a common courtesy to do so to your fellow boater.
