need a little help in cleaning breathable waders is there a special soap or do you just use a mild ?detergent thanks for the information ;D
-
mild powdered detergent with cold water.
-
you'll also want to hit them with revivex after washing. This will help the water bead up, which enhances the "breathable" part of your breathable waders.
-
Yup like Bentrod said use mild powered detergent and then us revivex. I redo my simms with it once a year and they bead like they where brand new. ;D
-
were do you buy revivex ?
-
any tackle store has access to it. The product is made by McNett in Bellingham, Washington. You should also check for their special liquid soap for breathable material.

And were would you find the soap ?

Step 1. Wash your waders in Revivex cleaner
Step 2. Wash your waders in Revivex "waterproofer"
Step 3. Spray waders with Revivex and dry on medium heat. This opens the pores of your Gore-Tex and helps the waterproofer do its job
Step 4. Don't wipe your greasy goo hands on your waders ever again!

Any store that sells good quality gortex jackets will have the detergent and water water repelling spay for Gortex products.
Like MEC or Coast Mountain Sports...
I have used Nikwax tec wash and and spray on nikwax td direct spay on reproofing
Do not use the wash in water reproofing, you gortex will have problems breathing. keep the water proofing on the outside with the spay.

I wear waterproof breathable rain gear for may job, as I work outside most of the day. Keeping the fabric clean and machine dried on medium is the key to maintaining the fabric. I use Nikwax wash. I only use a capfull, so it goes a long way. I think most detergents are too strong. Waders are probably the same.
