The method described surely would work, if there are fish in the lake. The lake has not been stocked since late spring, so the chance of hook-ups would be less than what you experienced back in spring. That being said, here is the good news. Lafarge Lake, among other many other lakes in the Lower Mainland, is scheduled to be stocked with rainbow trout this week. I will be updating the stocking database this week when they take place.

You could also try float fishing. Set your float about 4 to 6 feet from your hook. I have got more fish this way than right off the bottom. The lake has just been stocked, so you should get into something.

Good Luck ;)

What are you using for bait? Shrimp works well .Maybe try some green power bait as well.

Lafarge was stocked on September 30th with 840 fish. It was sampled with a gill net by the Ministry of Environment on October 1st overnight as part of a study for "Fishing in the City" program. A percentage of the stocked fish are adipose clipped, for the study, in case you catch one and wonder why (normally stocked rainbow trout in region 2 lakes are not clipped). Even though it was sampled with a net a few days ago, fishing should be good. Good luck.

I haven't fished Lafarge lake in years.  My grandpa used to take me there, and we'd catch trout.  Man good times.

First time I've even heard of this lake... I'm going to keep it in mind as it's very close to my office.

Thanks!

They are starting to bite. Fished for 1/2 hour this afternoon and managed to catch two on shrimp.
