Title: Advise where to have pin holes fixed in aluminum boat.
Post by: fishyfish on September 15, 2008, 08:44:14 PM
Hello. I have two pin holes in my aluminum boat  that let in enough water to scare me. I live in Vancouver. Anyone suggest a repair shop. I am going to phone RYM  propellor. I think I have dealt with them in the past. Thank you in advance.

If they're just pin holes and not an erosion of the general area, then try some JB Weld.  It's a 2 part epoxy that bonds to just about anything.  Can even be used for emergency engine block repairs.  Can Tire, Walmart, Revy, Home Depot should all have it.

I used Marine grade bondo and it worked GREAT. If they are just small pin holes, you can also try Sicoflex, GREAT product but a little pricey.

Sicaflex needs a large area to bond with and as per it's name is flexible I'd go with JB Weld it's cheaper and you can use the stuff for all kinds of things.
