I've been up in Masset the last 10 days at the end of the fishing season( work at a lodge in the summer). Thought i'd posta report about the last few days.
- we hit up the Tlell river on thursday. couple of Jacks caught , some pinks seen and some nice coho taken.( 12-14 pound).
- we also hit the Yakoun . full of pinks and black springs.
Saturday and today we were out on the salt chuck .Yesterday we were mooching/drifting with the current . Dropped our bait on weighted rods 5 pulls down ( 10 feet) and watched as the coho fought over the bait. At one point we had a triple header of 16,17 , and 17 pounders. We were out about a hour and the three of us limited out on coho 12-18 pounds . Countless others released. Today was just as intense .
Not too many springs on the dock( one I heard of this weekend)

Ah, so you must know my buddy then since he is the lodge manager for the Masset House. I hope he remembered to bring back some Coho Roe so we'd have some fresh bait for the vedder.
