Title: single hand speying
Post by: slurpie on September 08, 2008, 10:15:09 PM
Has anyone tried single handed speying?  Does this require a switch type rod or can it be done with a std single handed rod?  And the line?  Seen it on youtube and it looks pretty good.  Mind you, these guys are pretty damn good casters to start.
Any comments would be great.

You can perform most spey casts with any single hand rod, some rods are just alot better at it then others. The line will make a difference, nymph tapers, SA 40+ line, Loop Opti lines are all good single hand spey lines. I use alot of spey cats on my little 3wt lined with a Loop Optistream.
