I guess the short opening was too boost the sale of fishing licenses and salmon tags. LOL . I would love too see the numbers of how many they sold from the time they said it was going to open until now.

for once, I'm not trying to be sarcastic.  Has anyone ever known a time when FN or Native Americans turned down their harvest allotment in the name of preservation?

Chief Sid Douglas of the Cheam First Nation said declining stocks are a concern, but so is food.

Well from this statement we know what they will do, fish.

5 days opening, this has got to be the shortest opening on record (except last year's closure). Good for the fish but DFO sure knows how to get their license money.  :D

Be ready to pay more than $5 per lb (per Chris's thread)  now that only they can fish and we are off the water.  ;D

I'm trying to determine if you guys are serious.
You do understand that buying fish from the natives perpetuates poaching, right?
The only way to prevent it is to take away the demand (just llike going after the johns in DTES:).

Even if people don't buy from FN directly, are we sure that socs bought in a store are not from FN source?  ;D
