Title: Lafarge Lake..
Post by: michaeld on July 02, 2008, 04:11:19 PM
Me and my friend are going to go fishing down there tomorrow, we have not been there before
and to add to that, we are very new to fishing
.. we are wondering what set up we should use, and what area would be the best for beginners!
Thanks!!

Drop by Riverside Fly and Tackle or Searun.  They'll hook you up.

Fishing is usually steady all day, but I generally catch most of my fishing during the evening, 5:00PM and on.

flies beat anything on that lake, hands down....well the ones i use do at least. those illusive pellet trout can be hard to come by sometimes though ::)

gear = powerbait
fly = not telling :P

Silver spinners, and I've also had luck casting wedding bands.

 Lafarge was stocked on June 26 with 1340 trout , if the trout were stuffed full  they should be hungery by now .

Try float fishing with power bait or worms in the deeper sections. I get most of my fish off the beach.

would fishing off the bottom work?
thats what i tried today
im guessing float fishing works better?
and do you fish on the pinetree road side or the other side

Bottom fishing works, I always just use a float. I mostly fish on the Pinetree side.

Is there anything left in Lafarge ?

I went there about a week after it was stocked and people were hauling them away by the bucketload - At that rate it wouldn't take long to wipe out 1300 fish.

 I got to lafarge about 6:15 this morning and left at 9:00 and not a single bite , no risers and did not see anyone else catch anything . Is the lake cleaned out already or did they stock the wrong lake ????
