I've been lazy this year & after reading most of the posting, I'd rather have my sleep.
That is until my wife's cousin came in from out of towm. All he wanted to do was fish, doesn't matter where, when, what size & what type of fish.
Since he's suffering from jetlag & I've been itching to go to the Cap, we got there early Sunday. I showed him how & what to do for a while. He was on spinner & me on roe. After 2 hours of no success, we switched.
My 1st cast with the home made spinner & Wham! A Big One. The biggest I've caught in years at this time of year. About 6lb. Not bad, since I've been into a truck load of 2-4lb in years past. Usually, they're done in 2 min. This beauty fought for 15min & still had energy when I netted it. That was the only bite we had in 3 hours.
But Damn. That made our day. 1st trip for both of us. I just hope he doesn't expect this everytime.
I'm waiting now for the water to drop so I can show him how to fly fishing for Coho. Now, that's fun.

Better than no fish at all. Nice one Wan. Don't forget, see you, the family and visitors on July 12th (http://www.fishingwithrod.com/fftf).

nice fish anyway you look at it.

very nice Obi Wan!! :) :)

Alright alright. This might be a "fishermen's" 6lb. But 5lb as low as I'll go.
Then the fish that're normally caught is 1-3 lb instead. I don't know - I don't weigh cohos.
The point is. This one's substantially bigger for this time of year. Check out the hatchery. It's represented by one of the bigger ones in there.
I'll make sure to weight it or measure it next time, to satisfy my curiosity.

Very nice Obi, easily one of the larger fish being caught these days. Good on you ;D. I'm gonna have to take you with me next time because its been slim pickens for me and my friends this time around. Very, very happy for you and Good Luck next trip. See U on the river :).

Obi is right. I saw some coho in the hatchery tank closing on 7 lb. So his 6 lber is close to real wt. ;)
