holy crap er a carp. You are up early for carp fishing today. I don't think the wake up till around 9 or 10. where you headed to. Lions park ? use the peanut butter/ flour dough balls

I went out there around mid may near the bottle depot and I had not so much as a touch on my line. (I was fishing a flavoured dough on the bottom)
It could be May was too early and the water needed to warm up some more - to be honest that was the first time I tried for Carp there. I figured I would wait until the weather warms up a bit and it's been slow doing that so I have not tried for carp again. I think I will try again in July / August when they are likely to be more active - cannot say how they are right now but I would love to find out (hint, hint).
Spey casting for carp? Hmmm...if that involves a fly..good luck. I have heard it can be done but it must be a realy challenge getting them that way.

The sloughs in ladner are usually good during july and august. I have caught one so far this year and thats it. I live close so I am out quite a bit. I just use dew worms and have had sucess in the past but you have to keep it away from the pikeminnow as there's quite a few. Good luck.
PS I have used a fly and caught one but they spook quite easy. A seven wt. works just fine. Hard to find a place to cast though.

I am dedicated lol! Anyways, I think I'm gonna wait for july-august cause I've been skunked quite a few times now.
