Title: roche lake june 6-8, 2008
Post by: fishingbuddha on June 08, 2008, 10:03:44 PM
as usual for this time of the year, a group of us gather for our annual fishing trip.  over the years we have hit badger, tunkwa/leighton, fawn, and watch but this year the plan was to hit roche lake.

over the years, the largest fish caught to date has been a 7 and 3/4 lb rainbow and there have been years when we have caught over 30 per person. this year fishing was a little slower but the fish that were landed were all great fighting and nice looking rainbows.

the largest fish was 3 lbs with 7 others caught in the 2-just under 3  lbs. a few more were caught using gear fishing.

all fly caught fish were caught on chironomids with one being caught on a dragon fly nymph. (large bomber chironomids/chrome with red buts). a few really large fish were hooked but snapped the leaders.

weather was more like early spring.

the picture below shows a picture of the second place fish. interesting fishing option on the pontoon boat is the satelite radio system behind the seat.
