Title: fishing pond
Post by: fullahead on June 03, 2008, 06:18:58 PM
I want to take my 4 year old granddaughter fishing.  Do you know of a small stocked fishing pond around, where she’d be guaranteed to catch one?  I took my son to one  27 years ago, but I can’t remember where it was.  Somewhere in the Fraser Valley.

Most like would have been the trout hatchery in Abbotsford.

Go to the Freshwater Fisheries Society web site for more information. gofishbc.com

The Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery has two trout pond that are stocked with big trout, but they are generally not opened for public drop-in use. Instead they are for the learn to fish program I believe. The hatchery will be having an event on June 14th (Family Fishing Weekend) and kids will be able to catch trout there. I'll have more information on the website very soon.
