Just wondering if anybody has tried fly fishing for them this time of year and had any luck?

There was lots and lots of chrome hatcherys in the lower around april 25, must have hooked a dozen in that last week of fishing april. So I would think there should still be a bunch around.
-
Although not fly fishing I hooked a fish on the 30'th so they are still there, years ago I knew of one fisherman that went exclusively to small black gnats and stonefly imitations in April and he consistently outfished my row offerings.

Stones, Stones, Stones, black or tan. This is the prefect year for it, everything is late. The waters all over are low which means the surface warms up in the afternoon increasing the oxygen content. If you are going do it know before the melt and the water temps drop. My advice: Kaufmann Stone to mid afternoon then Stimulator when you see them rise latter in the day. Be ready they should be aggressive and don't be afraid to go big like #4 2X long.

The depth site shows the river is up quite a bit and rising over the last couple days. Anyone have an idea of water clarity?
