I am going to try out Macdonald park (Abbotsford). Is this any good for carp and what bait do you recommend? Are there any other places for carp around Abby or Chilliwack? Cheers.

Talk to Gerry owner of River Side Tackle in Port Coq. He know more about the Bass & Carp in Hatzic than anyone I know. If you want the real good, not just allot of noise, he is the one you want to talk to.

Just wondering what sloughs you were fishing in ladner for carp. I grew up there and fished every slough. Used to catch 80-100 fish every summer between grades. Lots of catfish and carp. Bread balls and peanutbutter dough always worked for us. The slough by #17 highway was great fishing. Let me know. Thanks, Mike

I usually fish the slough by the bottle depot.  I don't really know locations and access points of the other sloughs thou, would like to explore soon.  BTW whats the biggest carp anyones caught? I usually encounter them up to four pounds but i've seen some bigger.

i think 26" was my biggest ,dont have a clue how much it weighed. When you come into ladner and take a right at the 711, head to the very end. There is a good spot there. Also one block west of that is where i spent most of my summers. So before you get to the dead end take a right than a left and hit that dead end. good luck

I haven't fished the sloughs for years now as i moved out of ladner. But if and when I do i will look for the guy staring at his bobber. Now I seem to remember just having a tight line of the bottom. Wait for it to move around or go slack then yank.
