Title: An old find
Post by: Geff_t on April 13, 2008, 11:29:34 PM
Well I was cleaning out the shed and came across 2 of my Opa's really old bamboo carp rods. These things are about 24 feet long and come in 4 pieces. These rods are probable from the late 50's to early 60's. Also found some of his old champion glass rods that he used for fishing in the north sea. He used these to fish for carp on the canals in Holland. I just wish I still had my old bamboo carp rod from when I was a kid back in Holland. I am going to give one of the bamboo rods to one of the older guys that I see at the shop all the time. He has talked about these old rods before and he says that he misses having one as he used one way back in the day. I think that will make him smile for sure.
