Are there any places to buy marked gas in Abbotsford or surrounding area? I'm sick of paying road taxes to run a boat!
-
i tried that last year and i was told you had to have a farming license to buy marked gas
-
I don't think you need a farming licience, just a business that uses motors not intended for the road. Most places that sell marked gas or diesel are Cardlocks.
-
try some of native run gas stations they often have marked gas. We used it a lot in the Okanagan Lake area and bought from the natives.
It is designated for off road use and can be a big fine if caught using it. Not much monitoring in Canada but US has very stricted guidlines going so far to have ion site gasoline testing kit.
Not sure about boats though, wehre they fit into the rules.

Try Petro Canada bulk plant in Chilliwack, Yale Road West, North of the Vedder Road overpass.
Fine to use in boats.

i don't think you get through aircare with that gas. good way to get busted too.

Same grade of fuel just has a dye added. It is cheaper because you don't pay any highway/road taxes on it.

Don't know where you can get it in the Fraser valley. We get ours in 100 mile (have a cabin near there) and bring it home in 25 litre containers occasionally. Apparently there are two versions of marked fuel prices. "Marine" and "farm" where the marine fuel has a 3% tax rate and the farm fuel is exempt. (maybe that's why Beast was told he needed a farm licence?)http://www.sbr.gov.bc.ca/business/Consumer_Taxes/Motor_Fuel_Tax/tax_rates.htm (http://www.sbr.gov.bc.ca/business/Consumer_Taxes/Motor_Fuel_Tax/tax_rates.htm) .For the marine gas that we buy, we get premium marked for just less $$$ than unmarked regular.
