Title: Team Pimp strikes twice March 18th, 2008
Post by: EZ_Rolling on March 18, 2008, 08:57:45 AM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Decided to try a flow a little closer to home as I have had no luck so far this season on the Vedder.
Got to the spot where I landed my first steelhead last year, the river has changed slightly with very clear and low conditions.
Headed down about 10 meters to a nice looking pool and after a few casts landed this nice little hatchery fish.
Fishing partner was across the river so she never left the water.

A few more drifts with no bites made my eye wander downsteam to the next pool.
Thats where I caught this beauty of a wild fish after two quick pics he was quickly released back to the water.

A very nice morning on the water two fish landed before 9 am and off the river by 11 am did not see another person on the river.

Both fish were caught on a prototype purple and chartreuse Team Pimp worm from www.kramertackleandguide.com

Nice report and nice fish!

I have the same bag there EZ. It sure makes fishing a lot easier than carrying a heavy vest around!

Thats my mens fishing purse hotrod, actually yes it is quite handy, I found loading down the vest with all the stuff I carry gave me sore neck and shoulders after a long day.

I would rather not say what river it was but those that fish it will recognize the area, I didn't want to block out all the background.

First off:
Nice fish EZ_Rolling, I fished the same spot a week and a bit ago with no success.

Second:
Maybe it is the cap, maybe it isn't. The flows name was left out for a reason, because it is a flow that is in a very difficult position (in my mind and others) and DOES NOT need to be advertised! Why do people need to know the name of the river that was fished when a report is made? People now a days are too lazy to get out there, explore, and gain REAL knowledge about a system. If you know the spot why blurp it out there and tell everyone where it is when OBVIOUSLY the original poster DOESNT want it named!
some of us don't have the time to do so as we are involved in other things this is why we ask but I do agree that fragile systems such as these can be affected by over fishing and stuff but hey it's all personal preference. Nice fish EZ.

I would agree with ghost fish some areas need not to be named as the steelhead count is very fragile and soom need to get out and explore the beautiful provience that we live in han find your own favourite fishing spot cheers
