It's been years since I've seen a good run in June. Mainly because of lack of rain and very low water levels.

What fish does Cap have except salmon?

Steelhead (both winter and summer), but the number is extremely low so there is no retention for both wild and hatchery steelhead as well as a bait ban between August 1st and October 31st to prevent repeat capture of summer steelhead.

I didn't realize there were any red springs in the Cap - thought they were all white. Is this true?

There used to be a small run of reds but at that time it was strictly catch and release.

haven't fished cap for years, but the runs above the highway bridge can be productive for the early runs
they are small ho's, but extremely tasty!!
