He did have a pretty firm grip on the fish.

I however would try and start a fire and cook it but thats just me. It was sunny out so if you had any kind of glass in your pack you could get a fire started. Also other ways of starting a fire too of course.

He probably had blueberry pancakes for breakfast that morning. His crew probably included a fisherman of some sort that caught that fish and planted it on the end of his stick for him. =)
