Title: Gravel extraction from rivers, yes or no
Post by: bentrod on March 05, 2008, 10:20:26 AM
Without any extenuating circumstances (i.e., public safety, or the always popular one, flood control), only a simple question.  It appears from the thread "there are safer places to get gravel" that the FWR community is overwhelming against gravel grabs in waterbodies.  I just wanted to put a number to it.

Kind of what I thought, there are 3 people among us working for the BC govt. getting rich from gravel extraction.   ;D

No, All the environmental consequences would remain.  However, There would be no reason to remove the gravel other than the need for the gravel.
