Title: vehicle carpet / vinyl ideas
Post by: roeman on January 30, 2008, 04:03:59 PM
Just bought a new to me truck, but as hard as I tried I could not find the one I wanted with no carpet.  Any one have ideas of what to use other than getting the vinyl floor from the factory ($1000.00 installed ).  There has to be something that would work just as good.  Thanks

i just got the 2007 dodge 3500 and i put the thick mats in from the dealership  front and back and that set me back 550 bucks and i looked at the OEM products out their and nothing fit properly and i had to cut the hole for the 4x4 my self. so my recommendation is use the rhino guard alot of the guys at dodge 4x4 club use it and it looks great they use wire guards and zap strap it to the seat brackets so its out of the way.
plus look at the price 550 compaired to 60

I guess as I've spent 30 years cleaning carpets, no one will mind if I chime in. Big mats will work. Scotchgaurd the living daylights out of them, on a WARM sunny day, scrub them and use a garden hose to rinse. Dish detergent will work, Castrol Superclean if they're really greasy. Slap a bit of white vinegar on them afteer the first rinse, and rinse again. Shop vac off, hang to dry. You'll still get dirt around the edges, but not as much grit and grime as the factory mats. Vacuum frequently.

I know the Trophyhunter can help you out with what you'll need.

check out www.huskyliners.com  Got a set for my truck. they fit excellent and work very good at keeping all the crap off of the carpet. Many different models to choose from and custom molded to the year, model and make of your truck. Had to special order them in from Lordco.
