Go to a trout farm.

I've found Larfarge, Buntzen and Sasamat excellent for the kids. Not quite near for you though.
Check the stocking reports for recent releases.

Green Timbers Lake would be my choice. The last stocking for the lake was in late November/early December with both rainbow trout in the catchable size (12 to 14 inches) and larger fish up to 8lb! The larger fish were used as broodstocks at the Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery, so they are not the nicest fish (but some actually did not manage to spawn and should be in a good shape). The lake is shallow and small, increasing your probability of catching a fish. The shore access is very easy, which is important when taking kids fishing. You want to access the eastern shoreline where the lake bank is not steep. Cast a bottom rig or float rig out with worms or shrimp. Good luck.

If you want to make it really easy for the kids take them to " you catch ,you keep" in aldegrove. I can't seem to track down the number but that's the name of the place. I took all my kids thier last summer and it was great for them.It doesn't take long before you get a lot of fish. I was there for an hour and we had at least 8 or 9 rainbows. You pay by the pound and there is no CnR.

I tried to find the one in Aldergrove in the search engine with no luck. I think the company sponsors the trout fishing pond at Tradex. Another one to look for is:
