Title: 2005 Yamaha F15? Any opinions?
Post by: SNapz on November 13, 2007, 11:19:21 PM
Hi,

I recently got a 12' Princecraft Ungava boat and I am looking at putting a motor on it. I am looking at a 2005 Yamaha F15 four stroke electric start motor and I am wondering if anyone has used this motor before or has any advice on it? I read a few reviews on the epinion website and the 2 reviews on it said that it vibrates quite badly unless it is idling are full throttle.

From what I have read Yamaha motors tend to be very reliable but I am just wondering about these bad vibrations.

Thanks in advance!

I have an 05 Yamaha 8 hp for my kicker.  No vibration issues here.  It runs like a champ.  I got the pull start with the alternator in case my battery ever goes.  That way, I can always start my motor.  My buddy has the 05 8 hp high thrust with the electric start.  No issues with him either.

Make sure you look into the Honda as well.
Very sweet and very quiet.
