Title: another amazing day in the wack October 29th, 2007
Post by: allwaysfishin on October 29, 2007, 10:19:51 PM
...... NOT... the lower river totally sucked today...... not a decent fish on the hook.... did not see even one decent fish landed..... saw one guy lose a nice chrome coho... that was it. conditions were a wee bit fast but perfect clarity, should be real nice tomorrow.

...I had 2 amazing day's on the Wack (Fri and Sun).  No fish home to the table but I was NOT at work!!   ;D

Given all the reports of how slow the river has been, does anyone else think that perhaps the salmon season is coming to an end???  next stop steelhead????

there is a TONNE of seismic type activity in the lower river area right now..... gravel trucks and equipment on the dykes..... rock drilling by the vedder bridge...... i wonder if this is affecting fish moving up river..... there did not seem to be much swimming by at all yesterday. And when i sat for a coffee at vedder crossing, I set my thermos cup on a rock.... the coffee was jiggling in the cup from the ground vibrations of the rock drilling going on ....across the river. I wonder how this feels to a fishes senses?
A good coho year would see us getting decent smaller pods of coho right into mid november on the chilliwack... but those in the know will start hitting the squamish area or the flows on the north side of the fraser right about now.

I caught 6 wild coho mid river on sunday. Pretty good day. I think anyway :D A buddy of mine was into a couple beauty bullets most likely in the 15 lb range at keith wilson on crocs. He only fished for about an hour and a half. I was down there also but a little too high for my liking so I left him there

A buddy of mine went to the Chedder yesterday and did VERY well. Between him, his son, and 2 others they managed to land 11 hatchery and 4 wild Coho. They took home 8 and released the remainder.

As far as I know, they were around Borden Creek, at least thats what I have been told.

i normally fish the upper... but decided to try the lower...... guess all the fish were up top. I was still feeling way too sluggish from saturday night halloween bash at my place...... just didn't want to move around all day. I guess no fish is what i get for being fricken lazy  ;D  ;)
