Hit the river below the confluence of the Mamquam around 10:30 . River is still very high . when i first arrived visibility was about 2-3 feet. No signs of any fish so after about 30 min left for a little exploring. didn't see to much going on anywhere. Headed to "fisherman's park" around 1. It was chocolate milk. No fish seen. Great day to be out on the river however.

Fished the Cheakamus in a nice spot - saw lots of bald eagles but not very many fish... the occasional riser... Caught one dolly but nothing else. River was quite high with poor visibility - few inches. Water levels need to come down by a foot at least... rain heavy at times on Wednesday will keep the rivers high, especially with the warm temperatures... no point to be out on the Squish or Cheak before Friday

thanks guys you saved me a trip out there!

I live out here - so I go out frequently and just looking at the Mamquam tells you how high the other two are going to be. If the Mamquam is high you know that Cheak and definitely Squish are higher. The Mamquam gets less snow feed. There was lots of fresh white on the peaks down, but lots of it is gone with the warm weather. When the rain stops it usually takes 1-2 days for the water to come down. It settels slightly faster in the Mamquam.

hickman you check out the flows today?

The Squamish is high and muddy! Not worth it for a few days!

@ derek - might check out the Cheak later this afternoon - should be almost fishable. It cooled down quite a bit, so no snow melt.
You planning to be out next few days?

I was out on the Mamquam bar on the Squamish this morning. I didn't see a lot of fish activity while I was out there. The water clarity was pretty darn good, infinately fishable. I managed to bring a big male chum to hand ( my first of the year after weeks of trying) and had a light hook up on another, but that was it. Usually this time of year I would have walked away from there with my arms pleasantly tired from the numerous hook ups. Pretty slow still.

that is what everybody says - it is slow. As I posted in a different thread, I heard rumors that DFO might close certain rivers up here for that reason... it is a rumor
