Post by: dereke on October 14, 2007, 06:58:34 PM
got to the flow around 9am this morning, a little late due to illness but with the weather couldnt miss out on hopefully some good fishing action. arrived at the river to see perfect water conditions. alot of people up our way today. got into at least ten fish today getting six to the beach. bonked two males, all fish were very strong and the two i retained still had sea lice on them. great day on the flow and i cant wait to get back out tomorrow.

im very happy with my helios reel. kind of middle of the road price range but is really smooth and thats all that counts. unfortunate part is my hardy nine weight rod is getting sent in for a refurbishing so im using my 8wt river beater. am going to miss my hardy till at least steely season.

went out today again and i must say it has been a strange year. i fished everywhere today and it was vveeeerrrrrrryyyyyyy slow. squamish river i didnt see a fish roll or show itself. cheakamus i saw some fish but the visibility was very poor from the rain last night and we are supposed to get more tonight and tomorrow so it will be blown for a few days anyway. amazing how late the fish are on the lower squamish. not even a sign there today, didnt even bother wetting my line.

yep, I agree, headed up there today with a few of my buddies and thought i thought the water wasn't all that bad, saw only a jumper in 4 hours we were there. Not one bite amongst us nor the 4 other fisherman that were there. May be next week. G'luck all.
