Title: gates closed at night on the cap
Post by: bateman on October 02, 2007, 07:35:29 PM
the last tome i was on the cap up at the hatchery, we left around 10 PM and the gate was closed but not locked. before i venture up there again, does anyone know whether they now lock the gate and if so when does this happen. we thought we were screwed when we saw the gate closed and very happy to find out that we could get out

that was in the summer lol. i see a lot of fish guys fishing the pool and think well what a waste. they are 30 feet up and have to drag whatever they catch up the cliff and whatever they chuck back is a gonner. im not impressed! there are steelhead that run the river that are close to endangered and also any other smaller fish to catch is also dead on arrival. i prefer to hike a lot and enjoy the great beauty of older trees and the windy river and catch coho. is the bait ban still on?

I went to the cap yesterday and the gate was closed at 630-700am...I have never seen it shut before?  Maybe with the high water they want to limit access prior to sun up???

And yes the bait ban is still in effect.
