Good morning everybody -
Been fly fishing for a little while now, and also spey fishing. So far been spey fishing the Fraser and Squamish with great success. I was out in Squamish yesterday and i found it to quite dead compared to a few weeks ago. I was hoping someone can recommend a stretch of 'spey' water on the Vedder - I'm quite familiar with the river i would say, but not really found water i would call suitable for spey fishing. I would think lower part of the river somewhere?

I fish the Vedder top to bottom with a 14ft 2 hander. that being said typically most flyguys stick to the lower, especially along the canal. You can fish the train bridge, campground, or any other little spots you feel like exploring.

There are a couple of nice runs up top, the cedars is particularly spectacular...
The twig run above the train bridge has been a producer last season...
Osbourne road on the back side was good last year too, late season, in the tailout.
And there are a bunch of others, that require a walk to find :)
Again, with all spots on the vedder, fishing is done like parallel parking... An uphill battle educating other anglers about the amount of space you need downstream...
I rarely even bring out the spey until april, it's just too frustrating otherwise.
Cheers,
Nicole

JJ and Nicole,
Thanks feedback. Tomorrow will be a first on the Vedder with the two hander. Will try in the lower part first.

Managed to find some suitable water. Obviously plenty of fish - so only thing missing was my spey casting abilities. I guess there is always next weekend. Thx fr yr input.
