Title: Mouth of the Vedder River September 16th
Post by: odesseus on September 16, 2007, 05:45:22 PM
Started out early, early; 5:00am as the boat traffic on the weekend out at Mission is insane. On the hunt for pinks. Had the lines in the water just after 6am and was the fourth boat to arrive at the Vedder mouth. Anchored just inside the Vedder mouth in several feet of water. Flipping spoons on superlight gear. Into fish right away and had 3 does in the boat after an hour of fishing, one looked like she was out of the ocean, as silver as they come! Lots of hits and fish lost along the way as they seemed to not be taking the lures very hard. Next fish was a wild coho...fought like crazy, thank god for barbless hooks as he tried to take the spoon in one bite. Kept fishing till 8:30am, started to drizzle and boats started to choke the river, a few more good sized bucks, and headed for home.  ;D

I was there in my Jet Boat as well. The place was a complete ZOO. I ended up going a few hundred yards down River because of the amount of boat in the mouth.
