Yesterday while fishing for pinks...I was thinking of the millions of Pinks that are going to die at the end after they spawn. The DFO claims 10 million are coming back. Assume after commercial fisherman catches their share and we little fishermen catches a few, assume 5 million reaches their spawing grounds and die at the end. At an average of 5lbs a fish, that a whopping 25,000,000 million pounds of carcases at the end. That's a lot of dead weight (no pun intended). Even if at 2 million, that's 10,000,000 million pounds. Nature's got some amazing way of disposing that at the end. Or am I totally off my rockers??? Anyway, just a thought after my 1000th casting ......
Cheers...happy pinking!
