Yup, same guys who build the fly reels are gonna be making centerpins now..

here's the scoop
Flow Centerpin Reel
Ross Introduces a Modern Day Float Reel – Available January 2008
After more than two years of design and development, Ross is pleased to introduce the Flow – a modern
rendition of the centerpin reel. The sport of centerpin fishing is loaded with incredible history and tradition,
but rather than simply reproducing a reel design that so many have done before us, we have
incorporated our thirty plus years of fly reel engineering into what will become the new standard for all
centerpin reels.
This reel is SMOOTH! Precision machining, high quality bearings and perfect balance result in a spool
that spins effortlessly and without interruption. Whether you are looking for the perfect drag free drift, or
the ability to quickly reel in line, the ultra smooth rotation of the spool will make it effortless. And we didn’t
stop there! We have also incorporated a revolutionary centerpin quick release locking spool, smooth
moving on/off cam lever switch to engage or fully disengage the drag clicker and a unique symmetrical
spool design that eliminates the need for re-spooling line when converting the reel from left-hand to righthand
retrieve. Add in water shedding groves on the spool edge to help fight fast running fish and you
have a complete centerpin reel the likes of which have never been seen before!
The Flow centerpin reel comes with the following standard features:
♦ Smooth ball bearing rotation
♦ Revolutionary centerpin quick release spool design
♦ Smooth moving on/off cam lever switch to engage or fully disengage the drag clicker
♦ Tapered spool design to promote the smooth release of line
♦ Unique symmetrical spool that eliminates the need for re-spooling line when converting the reel from
left-hand to right-hand retrieve
♦ Removable handle plate
♦ Water shedding grooves on spool edge
♦ Made in the USA
Price: $299.00
Colors: Black, Champagne Gold and Copper

I think a certain someone has a centerpin addiction ::) ;D ;)
BTW, how many do you have?
-
Nice looking reel, except for the tacky "flow" in italics. Unnecessary and takes away from the clean look imo.
-
John Milner, new bearing model, you won’t be disappointed ;D
-
I dont like the open reels.
Too many places for sand/dirt to get into. ;)
-
I think it looks pretty interesting myself. It looks like it's super light and start up would be really good. Now, all it has to do is prove itself on the flow....

I was reading about the new ross the other day! I own one of there fly reels. Awsome reels!!!...Curious to see how this pin fishes!

Down to 2.. :'(

That's about the only other pin I'm really interested in seeing..I think the 5" one would be pretty interesting...

Another centerpin that won't get noticed out here. It's just like the new Raven Vectras(II, III), noticed how you don't see much of them out here. People out West could care less about those types of centerpins, they stick to the old school style that has barely changed for many years.

Hey Paul, go check out the 5" kingfisher at berrysbait, they got both in stock(bushing and bearing) asking $599 each

ChromeKings and Paul... why don't you two just kiss and make up ?? :-*
I think that reel looks pretty bad a$$ , I don't need another pin but I am sure interested in seeing a pin made by Ross !! their Fly reels have incredible workmanship so I am sure this would not be a dissapointment ;D ;D

"People out west could care less" Who exactly are you speaking off here? You and the Vedder crowd? Because from what I've seen the big fish are being caught on a wide assortment of "New" pins..Mykiss, Angspec. out of Ontario, etc. not some riveted old english thing... Most guys that i've seen who are serious about pin fishing don't have blinders on and limit themselves...Surprised your not still fishing bamboo with your pin if your such a "traditionalist"
Your are such a follower Paul! "oh gee float fishing sucks I better sell my stuff and go back to flyfishing....oh wait, everyone's got centerpins maybe I should buy another setup". :D :(
