Title: Fly Fishing the Capilano Mouth
Post by: Ed on August 13, 2007, 01:48:56 PM
I've noticed in the past that some anglers come with their fly tackle. Just wondering if anybody knows or has any personal experience whether or not fly fishing the capilano mouth works ?

I've gone down there a bunch of times, go for first light when the tide is dropping, and you'll see schools of coho moving in and out of the mouth, as they smell for fresh water...

It's really cool to watch!

As for flies, try rolled muddlers, they work very well... Try natural, tan, and olive.

Cheers,
Nicole

Wow thanks Nicole I was worried that nobody would answer my post. I am bringing a friend of mine from work that moved here from Chile. Just wanted to make sure he can catch something with his fly tackle

Those guys can be very finicky, so don't expect too much, it can take time to get one to bite when they are stale...

Good luck!
