Hello,
Do you guys rinse off your level wind and fly reels in fresh after fishing in salt water? Can you just put them under a tap? Thannkyou.
-
It has to be done.
-
I don't do it regularly, but I have gear designed specifically for salt (bonefish), and whenever I have that gear in fresh, I give it a dunking.
I've never had any problems with that, but the gear is very high quality.
But I do rinse my freshwater ties after every use. A real pain, but better than rust.
Cheers,
Nicole

If you want it to last, wash it down - include hooks and gear too and then dry it off.

Always rinse your gear after using it in the salt... Same with the motor on a boat
-
I wash with rod, reel and lines after every trip particularly after fishing in the ocean.

I wash with rod...
Excuse me?!?! :o
