Title: Any Pinks at Cates
Post by: 2slow on August 06, 2007, 05:10:43 PM
Just wondering if anyone has been into any pinks around cates park yet. I was out today having a look and saw about 1/2 dozen guys in waders at the usual spot. Took a cruise up to the end of the arm looking for any obvious schools jumping and saw none. Might be a bit early still?

Went out today. Launched at Rocky point zoo. parking was terrible.

Saw a dead baby seal around Barnet Marine Park where the oil spill occured. Didnt see any oil on the seal though.

Cruised over to the Mcbarge then crossed the inlet to cates park. Cruised slowly from cates park to deep cove. Fish on the finder but didn't see anything visually. Cruised up the inlet  on the west side and didn't see anything either.

I still think we are two weeks away at least. Two years ago i was into fish August 14th around cates park. I can't wait for them pinks to arrive. I love catching on the fly in the salt. Lots of fun and huge numbers

How many pinks if any would you be able to retain around Cates?
